Mindfulness & Meditation

Though our journey through life may include great joy and happiness, we sometimes go through difficult experiences and periods in which we feel depressed, anxious, sad, worried, angry or alienated. The care and expertise of a compassionate therapist can provide the needed support to deal with these feelings and experiences. I offer my clients a safe and supportive place to face their challenges and learn new ways of being.

Together, my clients and I collaborate to address their specific issues with the goal of healing past wounds and developing internal resources to cope with life’s adversities. I work from a strength-based model that empowers my clients to use their strengths and resources to develop healthy new coping strategies. I teach skills to address negative or anxious thoughts, transform difficult emotions, and foster greater self-acceptance. This work can lead to growth and wellbeing, allowing hope and ultimately offering contentment, happiness and a more meaningful life.

I have studied mindful meditation for 20 years and taught it for 6 years, including at Insight LA and University of Southern California. I also lead a weekly meditation group at Vice News and have taught an introduction to mindfulness and meditation at Riot Games, the National Basketball League and the City of Santa Monica. I also offer private sessions for individuals to learn and practice meditation as well as incorporate meditation techniques with my psychotherapy clients.
